Out of Province Students – Admission Requirements
There are two types of out-of-province students who can study at Royal Ontario Academy:
Canadian Students Entering the OSSD System from Another Province
If you are a Canadian student currently studying in another province and would like to join the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) system, you can apply for an assessment to determine how your previous coursework aligns with the OSSD requirements.
For students seeking the OSSD, submit an Equivalent Credit Assessment Application. If you’ve completed high school studies outside Ontario, you may be eligible for equivalent credits toward the OSSD. After your application is reviewed, the Principal will provide a detailed summary of the equivalent credits granted and outline any remaining credits required to meet the diploma requirements.
Ontario Students Continuing the OSSD System While Living Out-of-Province
If you are an existing Ontario student who has already begun working towards the OSSD but are now living outside Ontario, you can continue your studies through Royal Ontario Academy. We will manage your Ontario Student Record (OSR) and ensure you stay on track to complete your OSSD while living out-of-province.
Not pursuing the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)?
If you’re only looking to complete specific credits, submit a Prerequisite Waiver Application. This application, along with all necessary documentation, must be reviewed and approved by our Principal before your admission can be finalized.
Managing Your Ontario Student Record While Living Outside Ontario
If you want Royal Ontario Academy to manage your Ontario Student Record (OSR) while living outside Ontario, you must be enrolled as a full-time student, taking at least 3 courses. Once enrolled in 3 or more courses, our Principal will request your previous school records from your Ontario school.
